Craps Table Rentals

Chicago Craps Table Rentals for Any Event

When people envision a game of craps, they most likely picture a crowd of roaring players gathered around the table, hollering in excitement with the roll of the dice. Craps is a hands-on game in which players place bets on the outcome of one roll, or of a series of rolls of two dice. The game can be either extremely simple or extremely complicated depending on the types of bets that one places. Therefore, Craps is the perfect addition to any casino party as each player can play at their own comfort level.

Our authentic 12-foot premium craps table rentals are made of Oak Wood, and have carved wooden chip trays and drink rails. Our experienced dealers understand that many guests may be unfamiliar with the rules of this complex game and are happy to help players with basic strategies and advanced ideals of the game.

History of Craps

Craps is easily the world’s most popular dice game around. The history of craps can be traced back to medieval times. Originally Craps went by the name of Hazard. The game evolved and finally made its way overseas to America via French and British immigrants. Craps comes from the French word crapaud, which translates to toad. Many think that is a reference to how players would squat down, similar to a toad, to shoot the dice since Craps tables were not yet available. The modern layout and design we are used to today is a recent invention by dice-maker John H. Winn.

How To Play Craps

We’ve all seen the movies and everyone crowded at the Craps table, cheers erupting, and someone blowing on the dice before the big roll, but let’s back up to the basics. In Craps, the only person who has to make a bet prior is the shooter, otherwise known as the person who wants to throw the dice. If you’re interested in becoming the shooter, what you need to do is place a bet on the “Pass Line” or “Don’t Pass Bar.” The dice are then passed in a clockwise direction, so don’t be surprised if there is a wait for you to shoot. You can also place this bet without being a shooter, but you don’t have to, you may also wait to bet until after the “Come Out” roll.

When it is your turn to shoot, the Stickman will push about five dice toward you. With one hand only pick up two of the dice and roll them hard enough, they hit the wall on the other side of the table. The object of the roll is to establish a Point, which is a number other than 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12. There are a few ways to win once the Point has been established. If you bet on the Pass Line, and a 7 or 11 has been rolled, you win. However, if a 2, 3, or 12 has been rolled, you would lose. This makes the latter true if you bet on the Don’t Pass line. This means 7 and 11 loses, and 2, 3, and 12 would win. If a Point has been established that is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, the dealer will then place a disc on the number box at the Craps table. This is when all players can start to bet that the shooter will roll that Point again before a 7, or vice versa.
